Main Street BRT Corridor Study
Planning study defined the operating and capital characteristics of the Main Street Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor. This will be the first arterial street based BRT implemented under the Regional Transportation Plan and funded through Proposition 400. WIth the completion of this study, RPTA and the City of Mesa are now moving forward with implementation of the corridor. A consultant has been retained to conduct predesign and design work of associated infrastructure, including stations and intersection improvements. Service on the Main Street BRT is slated to begin in December of 2008 to coincide with the start of service on the light rail transit (LRT) line that will link the communities of Mesa, Tempe and Pehoenx.
